eBSN - Meetingpoint NorStella and Värmland

Easier e-business for municipalities and SMEs

ACTION PP/4.1.2.

TITLE: "REINFORCING SYNERGIES BETWEEN PUBLIC POLICIES IN SUPPORT OF E-BUSINESS FOR SMES"

Objectives
The general objectives of this proposed joint action is to transfer the knowledge and experience obtained by the Wermland Chamber of Commerce to the Norwegian organization NorStella with the view to transfer a well consolidated e-business policy initiative exercised and implemented by the lead part Wermland Chamber ofCommerce – the pedagogic of the e-business policy initiative Meetingpoint Wermland. The objectives are also to share the practical experience in e-business policy implementation, increase co-operation and improving synergies between SMEs in Värmland and Norway, increase cooperation among SME support networks in Sweden and Norway and further support the implementation of the priorities identified in the “Framework for SME specific e-business policies – Challenges and objectives”. After having the general objective met the objectives are also to increase IT skills among Norwegian small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and make SMEs understand the advantages of e-business and help them identify their e business opportunities.

Description of the work
We intend to transfer the Wermland Chamber of Commerce best policy practice – Meetingpoint Wermland, and share the practical experience in e-business implementation by making a documentation over the pedagogic which has been successfully implemented. The pedagogic which has been used will also be transferred by meetings such as workshops and seminars together with the partner NorStella. The activities have been selected on the basis of previous experience gained during the project Meetingpoint Wermland and on the basis of being the best ways to transfer knowledge and information considering the two project groups not being in the same country and context. The activities will be a mix of documentation,  workshops, seminars, information evaluation and final report.

Milestones and expected results
By transferring a well consolidated e-business policy such as Meetingpoint Wermland to the Norwegian foundation for e-Business and Trade Procedures NorStella, the Norwegian partner will increase their skills when it comes to helping its network of SMEs improving their skills and provide them with correct and adequate information about e business with the purpose of getting them to use the already existing e-business solutions in Norway. By obtaining the pedagogic behind teaching the local suppliers doing e-business, NorStella can offer medium-sized companies and municipalities better-trained suppliers. The companies in Värmland and in Norway will be able to set up informal networks that might not otherwise have come into being.
